A construction worker is said to have died while dismantling the decor of Psy’s summer swag concert in South Korea.
The man, who was in his 20s, died after falling 49ft while knocking down a light tower at Gangneung Stadium in Gangneung, Gangwon on Sunday afternoon (July 31). Psy had played in the room the night before.
According Korea Joongang Dailythe victim, originally from Mongolia, worked for a subcontracting agency hired to build stage structures.
Psy P Nation released a statement expressing condolences.
“We will do our best to establish measures to prevent another accident like this from happening”
“We express our deepest condolences to the worker who died following a sudden accident,” he said. “We also send our deepest condolences to the surviving family.
“We will do our best to establish measures to prevent another accident like this from happening, with a sense of responsibility.”
Last week, it was revealed that South Korean authorities were investigating claims that Psy’s water-spraying gigs may be contributing to the spread of Covid-19.
As Korea is in the midst of a Covid spike, the Disaster and Security Countermeasures Central Headquarters said it has received reports from people claiming to have contracted coronavirus after attending the popular broadcasts.
