LUND, Sweden, June 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Alfa Laval participated in the International Energy Agency’s annual global conference on energy efficiency on June 7-9, 2022. During the conference, held in Sønderborg, DenmarkCEO and President of Alfa Laval Tom Erixon was one of the participants with international politicians and other business leaders to discuss how to increase global energy efficiency, which is one of the pillars of the Paris Agreement.
The annual IEA Global Energy Efficiency Conference brings together decision makers from government, industry and wider society to explore how international energy efficiency ambitions can translate into real progress more faster and stronger. The focus was on implementation over the next 5-10 years and how to achieve the necessary gains on the global path to net zero.
Energy efficiency is a key part of the Paris Agreement and could generate more than 40% of greenhouse gas emissions savings over the next 20 years, with 50% of these savings coming from industry. Efficiency can be achieved either by implementing innovative technologies that reduce energy consumption compared to traditional solutions, or by adding technology to existing processes that captures and reuses waste heat for other purposes. Alfa Laval offers solutions for energy saving and reuse.
