Deutsche Entertainment AG (DEAG) Technical Director Moritz Schwenkow has been promoted to the company’s Chief Technology and Ticketing Officer (CTTO).

Schwenkow was appointed CTO in 2020, taking over all of DEAG’s ticketing business, including MyTicket in Germany, Austria and the UK, and Gigantic in the UK, acquired in December 2019.

In addition to his current duties, Berlin-based Schwenkow will assume strategic responsibility for digitalization and technology, including the exploration and introduction of new systems and infrastructure. He will also focus on developing and exploiting synergies between DEAG’s ticketing platforms.

This decision takes into account ongoing developments in ticketing technology and digitization while underscoring the importance of the sector to DEAG’s wider operations.

“We will continue to use new technologies such as blockchain technology and NFTs to further strengthen our market position and expand into new markets”

“We are already very well positioned in the international ticketing market thanks to our state-of-the-art platforms,” says Schwenkow, son of DEAG CEO Peter. “The digitization of the events industry has gained even more momentum, not least due to the corona pandemic. This not only concerns areas such as electronic ticketing, but also new digital formats.

“With our Nature One and Mayday live streams, we anticipated new trends early on and showed that we can react quickly to new circumstances. We will continue to use new technologies such as blockchain technology and NFTs to further strengthen our market position and expand into new markets. This will allow us to continue to provide our customers with first-class entertainment, digitally and locally. »

DEAG recently announced the most successful summer in its 44-year history, with more than three million tickets sold for the promoter’s events. A record total of 3.1 million people are expected to attend DEAG shows in Germany, the UK, Ireland, Switzerland and Denmark between June and August.
