Dr. Daniel Reichert appointed director of the Department of Family Medicine

Loma Linda University School of Medicine has selected Daniel R. Reichert, MD, FAAFP, as chair of the Department of Family Medicine.

Reichert joined the medical faculty at the School of Medicine in 2016. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and previously served as Vice Chair of the Department of Family Medicine.

“Dr. Reichert is well qualified to advance the department’s strengths in clinical care, medical education, and research,” said Tamara Thomas, MD, dean of the Loma Linda University School of Medicine.

Reichert holds other health leadership positions at Loma Linda University, including Medical Director of the Department of Clinics at the School of Family Medicine, and served as Senior Professor of the Family Medicine Residency Program. He is a fellow of the Leading Physician Well-Being program sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Reichert is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and an active member of the California Association of Family Physicians and the American Association of Family Physicians.

Reichert earned his BS from Andrews University and his MD from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Reichert will replace Roger Woodruff, MD, who served as department chair since 2014.

The position will go to the board in August 2022.
