Global Conference on Recent Advances in Mechanical Engineering Held
More than 100 academics, university researchers and industrialists participated in a two-day international conference on “Recent advances in research and development in mechanical engineering” organized at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty engineering from SOA here, which concludes Saturday.
The conference, held virtually, aimed to bring together academia and industry to discuss a variety of topics, including the development of new materials and their application, thermal engineering, design and manufacturing engineering, l ‘industrial engineering and renewable energy research, Dr Premananda Pradhan, conference moderator, said.
“We received 156 good quality research papers from all over the world, of which 105 were selected for presentation and publication,” he said.

Professor Bopaya Bidanda, University of Pittsburg, USA, spoke on Thriving in Uncertain and Disruptive Conditions, highlighting the need for business resilience and the ability to adopt virtual collaboration tools to support industrial operations. .
Other guest speakers were Professor A.Rolstadas from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Professor Jim Browne from the Irish Academy of Engineering, Ireland, Dr Debanik Roy from the Bhaba Atomic Research Center, Dr Pinkeswar Mahanta, Director of NIT-Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Sridhar Panigrahi of ISRO and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sahoo of the National Aerospace Laboratories of CSIR.
