Muscat: Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harassi, Minister of Information reaffirmed that the Sultanate is hosting the 31st International Conference of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) on Tuesday, which shows the country’s ability to organize major global events.
The event will enhance the prestige of the Sultanate at the global level, he added, stressing that the importance of the conference stems from the fact that it concerns the media and the press.
More than 350 journalists from various media and press institutions and establishments will participate in the conference, he said in an interview with “Sabah Al Shabab” radio program, adding that the event represents an opportunity to highlight value the economic, natural, historical and cultural assets of the Sultanate. potentials.
The conference reflects appreciation and acknowledgment of Oman’s media history stretching back more than fifty years, during which the media has played a key role in raising awareness and orienting society towards all that interests him, he said.
The Minister also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the Oman Journalists Association (OJA) in the Sultanate for hosting the 31st Conference of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), which required coordination with a number of press and media associations, societies and federations, worldwide.
He said the conference will include meetings with international journalists dealing with activities aimed at shedding light on Oman Vision 2040, Oman’s economic potentials and familiarizing participants with the Sultanate’s foreign policy and media.
