Jamia Hamdard University Obtains Center of Excellence in Unani Medicine
The Ministry of Ayush has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for three years for the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Unani Medicine at Jamia Hamdard here which will carry out advanced research, a statement from the university said on Thursday.
The project includes the development of a research center with advanced facilities for drug testing and quality control, including the training of Unani professionals, the organization of international conferences and the generation of data for validation science, development of monographs, modernization of dosage forms as well as generation of IPRs for new products, he added. “In recognition of the high quality research on Unani medicine at Jamia Hamdard, the Ministry of AYUSH has granted approval for a Center of Excellence in Unani Medicine for advanced research on drug pharmacognosy and pharmacology of the Pharmacopoeia of Unani Medicine under Ayurswastha Yojana of the Ministry of Ayush, and sanctioned Rs 10 crore for three years,” the statement read.
Vice Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, M Afshar Alam thanked the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine and the Ayush Ministry for granting the project.
