Jurgen Klopp’s contract with Liverpool: salary, duration, bonuses and options for the Reds manager

Since his appointment as Liverpool manager in October 2015, Jurgen Klopp has done an outstanding job of transforming the club’s fortunes and creating a winning culture.

After coming close to glory several times and losing the 2018 Champions League final to Real Madrid, Klopp managed to win Europe’s elite club competition the following season as Liverpool beat Tottenham in the final.

The following season, Klopp handed Liverpool the first league title since 1990 and their first in the Premier League era. The Liverpool boss is renowned for his gegenpressing philosophy, which the club’s players have embraced.

How long is Klopp’s contract with Liverpool?

Klopp’s current deal with Liverpool is set to run until the summer of 2024, with his last extension being signed in December 2019. He originally signed a three-year contract in 2015. In July 2016, he signed a six-year extension years until 2022. .

Klopp’s salary with Liverpool

Klopp reportedly earns around £15million a year, according to Goal. Moreover, Klopp earned £6.7m last year from advertising deals, as MailOnline reported.

How many trophies has Klopp won?

During his time at Liverpool, Klopp won the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.

Previously at Borussia Dortmund he won two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal and two DFL-Supercups.

Where did Klopp succeed?

Klopp made his first venture into management at Mainz in 2001 after spending most of his playing career at the club. In 2003-04 he guided Mainz to promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in the club’s history, but they were relegated in 2006-07 and he resigned at the end of the following campaign.

In 2008, Klopp took charge of Dortmund, where he enjoyed great success, winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12. The following season saw Dortmund’s league form decline, but Klopp managed to guide his side to the Champions League final in 2013, which they lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich at Wembley.

What did Klopp say about his future?

Speaking in January, Klopp insisted he still had a lot of work to do at Liverpool. As reported by The Mirror, he said: “I’m happy.

“When I arrived in 2015, the picture was completely different.

“It has been intense times since then. Every little thing you do is so worth it because of the size and emotion of this club. It’s like a family.

“We want to stay like this. You are not always lucky. I’m lucky. We’re a long way from finishing the book, so we’ll keep writing and see where we are.
