“MSMEs can significantly use natural resources to strengthen Odisha’s economy”
Bhubaneswar: The state’s micro, small and medium-sized enterprises can use the abundant natural resources significantly to strengthen the state’s economy, said Captain Dibya Sankar Mishra, Minister of Energy, Industry, of MSMEs and homes held by International Management Institute (IMI) Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with EGADE Business School Mexico, on the occasion of the 7th international conference “Global Business Environment” on the IMI campus, as guest of honor .
The 7th edition of the conference on the theme “Inclusive businesses in developing economies: converging people, profit and corporate citizenship”. Delegates to the conference were greeted by Prof. Ramesh Behl, professor and director of IMI Bhubaneswar. He also dwelled on the emergence of India as a world power in terms of the number of unicorns. Professor Ramesh Behl further announced that the conference was overwhelmingly received, with over 100 research papers from India and around the world. Prof Behl said this conference provides an international arena for in-depth debate on a topical issue such as inclusiveness in management, disruptive management and innovation. Shri Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief Fintech Officer, Monetary Authority of Singapore, gave the keynote address and spoke about the ongoing transition in the world of financial technology. Professor Rajagopal, National Professor and Researcher, EGADE Business School, Mexico, set the tone for the meeting by highlighting the importance of inclusive businesses in placing economically vulnerable people in the era of COVID-19.
Professors, researchers and students from various renowned institutes and universities attended the event, including EGADE Business School, Mexico; Steinbeis School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE), Germany; Universidad Panamericana, Mexico; IIM Ahmedabad; IIM Indore; IIM Kojikode; XLRI Jamshedpur; NMIMS; IIM Sambalpur; India Entrepreneurship Development Institute; IIT Kharagpur; VAMNICOM, Pune; Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore; FORE School of Management, to name a few. During these two days, eight technical sessions on various conference topics were organized. Two workshops led by international experts were also organized. The conference is convened by Prof. Sourabh Sharma and Prof. Manit Mishra, IMI-Bhubaneswar.
