Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University partners with World Futures Studies Federation to host International Futuristic Studies conference

Proactively addressing all of these questions and more falls within the purview of the interdisciplinary field known as Future Studies. To advance this increasingly critical field, Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) is partnering with the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF) to convene the 24th WFSF World Conference. This international conference, held from 26 to October 29, 2021 in Berlin, germany, will bring together organizations from around the world to collaborate to effect positive change in the present by looking to the future expansively.

“The importance for all people in all places on our common planet to work together to forge a bright future is becoming more urgent every day, and in this critical effort foresight studies of the future play a vital role,” said dr. Issa Al Ansari, President of PMU and keynote speaker at the 24th WFSF World Conference. “We are honored at PMU to be a Principal Partner of the World Futures Studies Federation.”

A global non-governmental organization, WFSF is an advisory partner of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations. The organization has members in over 60 countries and has been a driving force in future studies since its founding in 1973. The WFSF has sought to bring the study of the future to the realm of predicting possible futures. and probable to mapping and shaping the best futures.

The 24th WFSF World Conference will bring together world-renowned thinkers in foresight studies and related fields in a series of lectures, panels and workshops. Open debate will be encouraged and scientific papers will be presented and discussed.

“Through our partnership with the World Futures Studies Federation, Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University demonstrates our commitment to future generations,” said Dr. Al ansari. “Everything is at stake. But with future studies and the many promising avenues this field can offer us, we must be optimistic about our ability to overcome even the world’s most serious challenges.”
