PUNE: Hundreds of retired soldiers from the Bombay Engineering Group and Center (BEG&C) of the indian army will secure bright and lucrative employment opportunities in the private sector, with the Center signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Management and Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) and Creative group (CG) Resettlement.
While the CG Resettlementa private company, will organize various industrial-oriented courses for the military who are retiring, the MEPSC, which works under the supervision of the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, will issue the certificates to them.
Dhiraj Dharod, the founding director of CG Resettlement, told TOI, “We will run bridging courses for retiring soldiers to familiarize them with the requirements of private companies, factories and institutions.”
Colonel RR Jadhav (retired), official director of the Sainik Welfare Department of Maharashtrasaid, “Other ranks (OR) and junior officers (JCO) come from modest family backgrounds and remote villages. If they get respectable jobs after retirement, it will help them settle well.”
