The BJP demands the government AAP. pay employee contributions to DU employees
Delhi Assembly opposition leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Saturday demanded that the AAP government release the pending salaries of employees at 12 Delhi University (DU) colleges under its jurisdiction.
The leader said that on the one hand the Delhi government is promoting its model of education and on the other hand, hundreds of teachers and staff at 12 DU colleges are not receiving a salary even at the approaching Deepawali.
“The Kejriwal government has been withholding the salaries of these teachers and staff for four months and they are causing unrest. Delhi BJP MPs will go on hunger strike outside the Chief Minister’s residence if grants are not immediately released for these colleges, ”Bidhuri said.
“The Delhi government claims its model of education is so good that people from other states come to praise it, but that is just propaganda,” Bidhuri said. He said he wrote to the lieutenant governor and the chief minister to point out “arbitrariness” in the payment of salaries at these 12 DU colleges in recent years.
He said the Delhi government was not releasing the salary subsidies on time and it was unfortunate that teachers and college staff were protesting in the streets even as Deepavali approached.
