TAMPA, Fla., June 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — V&A Consulting Engineers, Inc. (V&A) is once again demonstrating its commitment to supporting the infrastructure needs of Florida municipalities with the acquisition of an engineering company civil and environmental, based in Tampa, Metzger+Williard, Inc. (MWI).

“There are key similarities between V&A Consulting Engineers and Metzger+Willard, Inc., such as complementary service offerings, cultural fit, and the geography of our businesses that allow us to have common goals and opportunities for growth. We are excited to continue our investment in supporting water, wastewater and transit providers in Florida. The acquisition of Metzer+Williard, Inc. is a win-win situation for our businesses, our customers. and the communities we support,” said Debra Kaye, PE, President and CEO of V&A.

Municipalities, large construction and rehabilitation companies can now access a full range of infrastructure support services in a single engineering powerhouse. The companies bring nearly 90 years of combined water and wastewater expertise to their customers. Each team is excited to bring together similar cultures, being small women-owned engineering businesses, and plan to have even greater impact together.

“From the moment I first met Debra and learned about the capabilities of V&A, I knew that joining our companies would benefit our businesses, our employees and the engineering community. As women owners, we share a special bond,” said Nancy Metzger, owner of MWI.

MWI founder Dan Willard praised the collaboration:

“I’m extremely happy to see Nancy and Debra join forces. It’s a decision that will benefit both companies, the employees and the engineering community. Both companies seem to have compatible cultures and similar histories, and they offer complementary services. Together, they will be a stronger organization. With the awareness of the country’s needs for rehabilitation and improvement of infrastructure, the company is well placed to succeed and prosper in the future.

Population growth, water demand, aging infrastructure, extreme weather, and treatment demands are putting increased pressure on local governments and municipalities to meet the needs of Florida communities. The pressure on coastal communities comes with an additional risk of rising sea levels. MWI. has been a quality resource for engineering services supporting the water and wastewater community in the Florida area.

“I am extremely pleased with the inspiring work that Debra Kaye, PE, CEO and President of V&A, and Nancy Metzger, PE, President of MWI have done to complete this transaction. The two companies share remarkably similar cultures and will be able to help each other in the growth of the new company. The technical disciples and expertise of both companies are very complementary and will provide tremendous opportunities for team members to continue their professional development. I am committed to helping the new entity , Debra and Nancy, in any way I can support their continued growth.”

Based in Oakland, CA, and founded by José Villalobos, PE in May 1979. V&A began as a consulting firm providing responsive service and effective solutions focused on corrosion engineering specializing in the assessment, rehabilitation and preservation of municipal infrastructure.
